DELF/DALF exam preparation courses
Most of Yalea’s partner schools in French-speaking countries offer specific exam preparation courses for students wanting to take the DELF or DALF exam. You can even take the exam itself whilst you are abroad, or if you prefer, once you have returned to your home country. However, taking the exam as soon after completing the course is recommended to reap the benefits of your preparation course.
What is a DELF/DALF diploma?
The DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) diplomas are the French equivalent of the Cambridge and TOEFL certificates for English. The diploma is awarded to demonstrate a level of French ability, as approved by the French Ministry of Education. There are six independent diploma levels which correspond to the “Common Reference Framework for Languages of the Council of Europe”. There are four DELF diplomas, corresponding to A1 up to B2 and two DALF diplomas, corresponding to the C1 and C2 level.
Depending on your individual objectives, an exam preparation course will help you to focus on your needs for the exam. The exam preparation course focuses on each of the four areas which are tested by the exam (listening, speaking, reading and writing) to ensure students are well prepared.
Students are able to undertake the exam for each of the levels independently of each other, whether it be in the same or different countries. With at least 1,184 authorized exam centers in 172 countries, there are many possibilities. Additionally, there is no limit to the number of times a student can sit the exams, nor a time restrictions for advancing to the next level. Should students desire, they are able to request undertaking successive exams for different levels in one sitting.
